How
do I know if the PaloVia Skin Renewing Laser is right for me?
If you have crow's feet around your eyes, the PaloVia laser is FDA-cleared
to treat these fine lines and wrinkles regardless of age or skin type.
Keep in mind that you should not use the PaloVia laser on skin that
is infected, burned or cut as this could cause discomfort or irritation.
How does the PaloVia
Skin Renewing Laser work?
Unlike lotions and creams, which are most effective on the skin's outer
layer, the PaloVia laser also works below the surface where wrinkles
form. It generates short pulses of micro-fine laser light that penetrate
deeply into the skin's sub-layers, treating the skin's aging support
structure. This system uses professional technology adapted and FDA-cleared
for at-home use. Short pulses of micro-fine laser light penetrate into
the skin's sub-layers to renew the skin by enhancing collagen production.
Then the body's natural healing process sweeps away older, damaged tissue
and rebuilds it with fresh, new collagen and elastin, helping skin look
smooth and youthful. To learn more, visit Why
It Works.
What is non-ablative
fractional laser technology?
Non-ablative fractional lasers generate short pulses of micro-fine light,
which can be manipulated by size, energy, spacing and depth. Unlike
ablative lasers, which remove the top layer of skin and part of the
sub-layer, non-ablative fractional lasers keep the outer layer of skin
in place, for faster healing and recovery.
What is the discomfort
level? I had profesional laser treatment once and it really hurt.
Yes, it is similar to a doctor's laser treatments. They both work! It
has been described as a quick rubber band snap (on a very small surface
area). The sting doesn't last long.If the pain is too much for you,
you can change the setting to low, then medium later, and then high.
Can I use the
PaloVia laser on other parts of my face/body,
like the wrinkles under the eye, and other facial wrinkles, not just
to the side of the eye? The PaloVia laser has only been clinically
tested and FDA-cleared to reduce fine lines and wrinkles ("crow's
feet") around and under the eye area. But even though it has not
been cleared for use on any other area or for any other skin condition,
several of our customers state they are using it on other areas:
Customers have reported using it between their brows, above lip,
and cheeks, and state that they do so with great results. It was only
FDA cleared for use on fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area.
You have to be somewhat patient as the healing process is gradual and
part of the healing process does involve redness and minor pain during
the treatment. BUT the redness is gone by morning after nighttime use
and lessens with continued use.
One had a scar from skin cancer surgery that disappeared after 3 weeks
on medium setting using a cold pack afterwards to reduce the pink and
any swelling. Just do not get too close to the lower lid edge of over
the eyeballs!
A small balloon filled with water and frozen, works wonder as an ice
pack. It was recommended by a dermotologist.
Was the PaloVia laser
tested for safety?
The PaloVia laser has been safety-tested with hundreds of clinical study
participants, performing more than 7,500 eye-area treatments. Its design
includes many features that reinforce proper use including smart
sensors that work with the PaloVia Pre-Treatment Gel to verify skin
contact, helpful audio and visual cues and automatic shut-off to prevent
overuse. Back

What does FDA-cleared
mean? How does it differ from FDA-approved?
There are two different types of FDA (U.S. Food & Drug Administration)
reviews for medical devices: Premarket Approval (PMA) and Premarket
Notification 510(k). Whether a PMA or 510(k) needs to be filed depends
on the type of medical device. PMAs are typically required for high-risk
medical devices that pose a significant risk of illness or injury, such
as heart stents. The 510(k) process covers a range of other medical
devices including contact lenses, wheelchairs and lasers. 510(k)
medical devices are referred to as "FDA-cleared" and PMA medical
devices are referred to as "FDA-approved". The PaloVia laser
is FDA-cleared, through the 510(k) review, for the treatment of fine
lines and wrinkles around the eye (periorbital wrinkles).
Can it be used
by people of color~different skin tones?
Yes, but if you are concerned, try it first on your leg.
How do I use the
PaloVia laser?
Through years of testing, the PaloVia laser design has been perfected
for home use. There is a slight learning curve,
take your time, don't use too much of the gel, only a very light covering
is needed. Wipe the gel off the tip after every 2 or 3 "stamps."
Hold the unit flat against your face and use pressure to keep it still.
Work with the unit until you find a spot that's relatively flat. Pull
the skin tight in the crease (boney area.) Keep the handset still for
the 3 sec. treatment and you will have no problems. The treated area
will get dry. After using, wash the gel off gently, rinse with cold
water, dry and we recommend some of our excellent Cellbone Skincare
products, especially the Hydra
Copper Peptide Moisturizer + Advanced Skin Hydration Gel with a
15% discount if purchase the PalVia Skin Renewing Laser, $32.30. Or,
Cellbone
Skin Nutra Moisturizing, Skin nourishment treatment with Caviar
extract and multi-vitamin complex, sale price $52, or a moisturizer
of your choice. To learn more, view a Treatment
Session video or download the Instructions
for Use booklet.
How
often do I need to use the PaloVia laser?
For the first month, treat yourself every day for just 3-4 minutes and then
in subsequent months follow up with occasional maintenance treatments (twice
per week).
How long does each
treatment session last?
Each treatment lasts just 3-4 minutes and can be completed in your own home,
on your own terms.
When will I start
to see results?
Although individual results vary, most people see a visible improvement
in wrinkles in just one month. The results are natural-looking, but dramatic.
How long do the
results last?
For your best wrinkle improvement, you should follow the treatment plan,
which is one month of daily use and ongoing occasional maintenance (twice
per week). Based on clinical study data, on average, physicians found
that the majority of participants still had a visible improvement in
their wrinkles three months after they completely stopped using the
PaloVia laser. Back

Why do I need to
use the PaloVia Pre-Treatment Gel?
It is critical to use PaloVia Gel with the PaloVia laser. When applied
to clean, dry skin around the eyes, the PaloVia Gel ensures proper operation
of the Handpiece, proper contact with the Treatment Window and optimal
light penetration during treatment. The bottle included with the PaloVia
laser will last for approximately four months. To
purchase more, visit PaloVia
Pre-Treatment Gel.
After 1 mo of
pumping the gel it stopped coming out of bottle.
The gel bottle is designed with a vacuum pump. If it is not pumping,
it probably has an air bubble. Try to cover it by turning it upside
down. If that does not work, unscrew and use a clean Q-tip so you do
not corrupt the gel.
Can I use another
gel or lotion with the PaloVia laser?
No, you must use PaloVia Pre-Treatment Gel, which has been specially formulated
and tested to work with the PaloVia laser. The PaloVia Handpiece may not
operate properly if used without the PaloVia Gel, or if used with another
lotion or gel, or if the skin is not completely dry before applying the
PaloVia Gel. Such failure to operate properly can cause serious and permanent
eye damage, discomfort or skin irritation, or may damage the Handpiece or
prevent it from treating your wrinkles.
Can I use the
PaloVia laser if I've had professional cosmetic treatments?
If you have a skin condition or are undergoing professional cosmetic
treatments such as injectable toxins (e.g., Botox®) or fillers (e.g.,
Restylane®), check with your doctor or clinician before using the
PaloVia laser. Botox® is a registered trademark of Allergan, Inc.Restylane®
is a registered trademark of HA North American Sales AB.
Can I use the PaloVia
laser with topical creams such as retin-A?
As explained in the Instructions for Use booklet, you must
use PaloVia Pre-Treatment Gel with the PaloVia laser. After you complete
each PaloVia laser treatment, you can continue to use your preferred over-the-counter
skin care products. However, please check with your doctor before using
any prescription creams in conjunction with the PaloVia laser.
Can men use the PaloVia
laser?
Absolutely. The PaloVia laser was tested on both men and women. And our
male customers, like our female customers, say they just want people to
notice their eyes ... not their wrinkles.
How is the PaloVia
laser powered?
The PaloVia laser is powered by a lithium-ion battery. Each PaloVia laser
comes with its own Charger, which plugs into a standard 110V AC electrical
outlet. It takes approximately two hours to fully charge the Handpiece.
How long does a full
battery charge last?
A full battery charge lasts for 3-4 sessions of treating the wrinkles
around both eyes. It takes about two hours to recharge it. The laser
is set so that you can only use it 25 times(stamps) before it shuts
off and will not let you use it again for 8 hours. It has a timer built
in that tells you how many more hours you have to wait before you can
use it again. Most use it about 8 times per eye so that I have never
been limited on waiting. Back
