What is the difference between regular magnets and PEMF?
Our body's natural magnetic field is created by the flow of electrically charged
ions in and out of cells and the transmission of electric impulses through cell
membranes. Only Pulsing ElectroMagnetic Field (PEMF) force and not static magnets
can influence on a cellular level. The magnetic strength value of static magnets
(expressed in Gauss value) is not relevant at all, since the measured field
strengths of permanent magnets range from 300 gauss to 16000 gauss at the surface,
at 2 cm distance around 10 gauss and at 10 cm distance; absolutely nothing.
In addition static magnets cannot create any electrical induction at all without
being mechanically moved the whole time!

What is Electromagnetism?
The interaction of electrical and magnetic effect is known as electromagnetism.
Electromagnetism is one of the most important concepts in physical science.
An electromagnet consists of a piece of soft iron with electrical wire wrapped
around it. When an electric current flows through the wire, it produces a magnetic
field around the wire and the iron is magnetized. The greater the current, the
stronger the magnetic field. By coiling up the wire many times, the magnetic
field produced can be made even stronger.

What has Lorenz force to do with PEMF?
Electrical current in a coil causes a magnetic field. The magnetic field curls
around electric wire in which the current flows. Electricity and magnetism are
interrelated in many ways. They are manifestations of the same fundamental physical
concepts. Maxwell equations show the relation between the electricity and magnetism.
The combined effects of electrical and magnetic fields, is called Lorenz force.
As result of induced Lorenz force pulsing electromagnetism will produce electricity
in cells and this is the basis for Pulsing Electromagnetic Field Therapy.

Electricity within the human body?
It is long known that there is electricity in our bodies: electrocardiogram
(ECG), electroencephalogram (EEG) and electromyogram (EMG). In 1956 the piezoelectric
effect in bone was discovered by Fukada and Yasuda; a physicist and an orthopaedic
surgeon in Japan. The combined effects of electric and magnetic force explain
that pulsing electromagnetic fields induce electrical changes on a cellular
level within the body and cell metabolism is influenced.

PEMF influences oxygen levels within cells?
This can only be accomplished when the pulsing electromagnetic fields penetrate
sufficiently deep within the human body. The electrical influence and increase
of the membrane cell potential, causes an increase in oxygenation, which in
turn increase the supply of nutrients. This results in disposal of waste products
from the cells and cell detoxification.

How do I know that the effect will be real and not just placebo?
Most scientific clinical studies clearly show that in order to obtain clinical
relevant results the minimum pulsing field strength must be at least 3-5 milli
Tesla (30 to 50 Gauss). In order to generate piezoelectricity inside bone and
cells the field strength must exceed 10 milli Tesla (100 gauss). There are different
variations of large and expensive coil systems mounted on arms or beds, but
none of these systems is able to generate energies higher than 100 gauss.

Flat treatment pads versus bulky body coils?
Additional disadvantage of large coil systems is that the magnetic field is
very localized and mainly within the coil area only and not suitable for full
body energizing. Many manufacturers use the latter method due to technological
difficulties and complications in manufacturing and controlling high-density
electrical currents within flat surface coils. Also creating stable and effective
electromagnetic fields exceeding by far the 10 milli Tesla (100 gauss) level
seems to be problematic for other manufacturers.

Do energy levels above 10 milli Tesla always work?
NO! The speed of change of the electromagnetic field induced into the body is
very important to obtain the maximum possible force and thus penetration inside
the body. This speed of magnetic induction is one of the most important parameters
for obtaining nice and clear pictures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines
in hospitals, to obtain high speed tilting of hydrogen atoms in the body. These
atoms emit the radio frequency signals, which are measured by the MRI coils
and used to create the diagnostic picture. This explanation also clearly shows
that a static magnetic field cannot generate any piezoelectric effect inside
the body since there is no speed of change component when applying a permanent
magnet.

And what about energy levels under 0.1 milli Tesla?
There are systems, which generate less than 0.1 milli Tesla (1 Gauss), which
is much less than the normal background magnetic field in any regular household
(fridge, TV etc.). There cannot be expected anything by the use of such a device,
except for a placebo effect.

Does the PEMF penetrate the whole body?
Absolutely. The combination of the generated energy level and the speed of change
of the pulses guarantee full body penetration, under condition that the minimum
amount of energy generated is also sufficient.
Can I actually feel the electromagnetic pulses?
Just take the supplied test magnet in your own hand and feel the pulses! Maximum
energy setting with the coil electrode even enables you to feel the pulses at
a distance of over 40" (1 meter) or at the other side of your body!

What about battery powered systems?
Battery powered equipment generate very short square, triangle or exponential
pulses. In addition they are unable to generate the necessary high energy, electromagnetic
fields simultaneously at each individual coil, otherwise the battery would be
exhausted in a very short time. These systems will not induce any sufficient
energy transfer into the body in order to obtain any realistic electron movement.
The minuscule amounts of generated energy will not create any relevant or beneficial
piezoelectric effect inside cells.
